The Fibonacci spiral is found in compositions by painters. The most famous example was painted 500 years ago by Leonardo da Vinci, the Mona Lisa. Leonardo knew a lot about maths and was interested in whether it could help him find perfect proportion. Perhaps he was right, as the Mona Lisa is today the most famous painting in the world.
The tip of her nose is the middle of the spiral. The spiral fits the bottom of her chin, the top of her head, her shoulder and her hands.
